We want to thank all of our donors and members for their generous financial support and personal commitment to the mission of the non-profit American Association of University Women. There are numerous opportunities for giving to AAUW.
Gifts made through our branch can be designated to be applied to a specific project or area such as:
- Scholarships
- Tech Trek Science Camp
- Community Grants
- Educational Foundation
- Legal Advocacy Fund

 Donate a Vehicle
You can donate your car to the non-profit AAUW Laguna Beach Foundation.* Proceeds from the sale of your vehicle will be used for projects that support our mission, such as Tech Trek science camp, scholarships and community grants that promote education for women and girls.
We are using a company called The Center For Car Donations. Here is how it works:

You need to provide:
- Your name
- Your charity (AAUW Laguna Beach Foundation)
- Your phone number (someone will call back within 12 hours)

They will pick up your car, give you a receipt, and handle all the paperwork for the IRS and DMV.

Donate Stock
You can now contribute financially to our branch's mission by donating stock to the AAUW Laguna Beach Foundation (LBF). If you want to help sponsor a girl to go to Tech Trek science camp or contribute to our local scholarships, etc., you may designate where you want your donation to be applied.
Many donors choose to make gifts to non-profit organizations using long-term appreciated stocks and mutual funds due to the very attractive tax advantages associated with such gifts. The benefits available to you when making a contribution of stock or mutual funds may include:
- Avoiding federal and state tax on the capital gain.
- Receiving an income tax deduction for the full market value of your gift (not what you paid for it) if you itemize deductions on your tax return and have held the assets one year or longer.
- Making a larger gift at a lower original cost to you.
So, if you have appreciated stock in your portfolio and don't want to pay capital gains taxes when you sell it, consider a donation to AAUW-LBF. Before you make a gift of appreciated securities, however, you may wish to consult your financial planner or tax advisor to determine how the potential tax advantages described here apply to your specific situation.

Legacy Giving - Make a Bequest
You can make a legacy gift to the non-profit AAUW Laguna Beach Foundation in your will. A bequest has several advantages:
- It is 100 percent deductible for estate tax purposes
- It may place your estate in a lower estate tax bracket
If you are interested in making a bequest to AAUW-LBF, speak to your estate planner or attorney about adding the appropriate language to your will.
Donate Silent Auction Items
If you wish to donate items to be auctioned off at our annual Literary Luncheon Festival of Women Authors, contact one of the event coordinators Diane Reed (497-3212) or Miriam Kranser (499-5544). Please fill out our donation form and provide it with your gift.
