AAUW Laguna Beach Foundation

The AAUW Laguna Beach Foundation receives and administers charitable funds and donations for the AAUW Laguna Beach Branch. Our members work through the Foundation to empower women and girls through education to reach their full potential. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Tax ID 33-0915388.

The Foundation distributes charitable funds in three specific areas:

1) Community: Community Grants for programs that support the social and education needs of women and girls in the community, Scholarships for graduating high school seniors and women returning to college and Tech Trek summer science camp for middle school girls.

2) AAUW Educational Foundation—the world's largest source of funding exclusively for graduate women. EF funds research projects, fellowships and grants, symposia, forums and community action programs.

3) AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund—provides funding and a support system for individuals seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination.

The Laguna Beach branch's fundraising events such as the annual Literary Luncheon Festival of Women Authors and Leadership Dinner honoring Women of Achievement in the community provide the major portion of the charitable funds distributed by the Foundation. Additonal funds are received through donations by individuals in the form of cash, securities and vehicles.
